23 Things

  • Exercise 1- May 15, 07 I read about PLANFL.net/23things and started the training exercises.
  • Exercise 2- May 15, 07 I read about 7 1/2 Habits for lifelong learning.
  1. The hardest thing for me, is setting goals. I tend to think things work themselves out in the course of time. For instance I haven't set any particular financial goals. Be a millionaire by age 12, billionaire by age 21, etc. It'll never happen, my needs are much smaller.
  2. The easiest is that I have confidence in myself as a competent, effective learner. It may or may not be true, but if I believe it, that's all that matters.
  3. ***still need to do contract on different computer*** this one blocks pop-ups

Learning never stops! or Burn Baby Burn!

I feel like I'm in school again, with assignment due dates and good grades (I mean the chance to win prizes). You know a lot of the things we learn about are constantly evolving.

You don't make it out of high school as a perfect cook. Home EC may give you the basics, but it isn't until you are having to feed yourself and perhaps family members on a regular basis, that you start learning.

There a phone calls to experienced cooks (Mom) for explanations of what cookbook terminology really means, and for recipes to favorite foods, or explanations for what you may have done wrong.

When personal assistance is unavailable, the Internet has become invaluable. A plethora of recipes are at your fingertips. Whether you want something as simple as how to boil water, or how to prepare french cuisine with the appropriate wine accompaniments--it's out there.
